Eleven days journey with seven days in the Faroe Islands
Ólavsøka is the national holiday in the Faroe Islands and is celebrated in Tórshavn from the 28th July at 2 p.m. and until as long after midnight on the 29th July, as you wish.
During Ólavsøka Tórshavn has a lot to offer when it comes to culture and sporting events. On the 28th July there is the official opening and final of the Faroe Islands championship in boat race, which is the national sport in the Faroe Islands.
On the 29th July there is a parliament procession from the parliament to the cathedral and back to the parliament, where the prime minister gives his opening speech. Most of the locals are dressed in beautiful national suits.
