Whale safari boat trip from ReykjavíkTake part in a memorable journey to the world of whales and seabirds. This is an adventure at sea! Our boat is conveniently located in the Port of Reykjavík, from where it takes only a 20 minute journey to reach the natural habitat of the whales. Common sightings in the area include the minke whale, the white-beaked dolphin, porpoise and the popular humpback whale. The majestic ordinary and sei whales, as well as the orca, sometimes accompany our boat. We always see a variety of birds, such as gannets, puffins, guillemots, cormorants, all kinds of gulls, kittiwakes, arctic terns and many others. The tour passes several islands where colonies of puffins nest, so there is much to photograph. All participants may borrow warm overalls and raincoats. For safety, all children under 12 wear a life jacket during the voyage. To ensure that the whales are not disturbed by our presence, we sail with a constant, non-changing speed to the habitat of the whales. The result is that all kinds of sea life, from the humpback whale to the smallest porpoises, often make an appearance at the surface of the water near the boat!

Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon zodiac tripFor people who want to enjoy the fantastic icebergs in an exciting manner, this trip is a definite highlight.

This trip offers a lot of variation, from floating without the motor close by the icebergs and taking it all in, up to sailing between the icebergs at a respectable speed, just like James Bond. Because of the higher speed, you see more during this trip than in the amphibian boats and you can also get closer to the icebergs.

It is advisable to book this trip beforehand, because the capacity is limited.

    • Included
Entrance fee to the lagoon. You will need to bring your own swimwear and towel, but you can also rent it on site.
      Prices
      Prices vary from € 50 to € 80

Bathing in the Blue Lagoon is a very special experience, with the bluish water surrounded by lava fields. The geothermal water has a unique composition that contains three active ingredients: silica, algae and minerals.

The blue color comes from silica and the way it reflects sunlight. The water temperature is 37-40° C year-round. The water depth is approximately 0.8-1.2 meters deep with the deepest point at 1.6 meters.

    • Duration
      30-40 minutes.
      Included
Boat trip with English speaking guide, use of safety vests.
      Available in the period
From May to September daily, many departures per day.

Glacier Lagoon Amphibian Boat TripWithout a shadow of a doubt, the glacier lagoon is one of the highlights of every trip to Iceland. The enormous icebergs that float on the lake, with their bizarre forms and the fantastic colour variations of white, blue and gray, are unforgetteable. From the shore it already looks magnificent, but with the boat you get much closer, so you can see it all a lot better. The explanations of the guide, about the glacier, the lake and the ice, make it all even more interesting. And of course it is a fun experience to ride over the land and then straight into the water, where the boat changes over to sailing mode.

    • Duration
      3 - 3½ hour
      Included
Bustransfer from Húsavík to the glacier if booked. Monster truck trip from base camp to the entrance of the glacier tunnels. Hike through the glacier tunnels with English speaking guide. Use of crampons.
      Level of difficulty
A relatively easy hike, on crampons because it is slippery in the glacier!

Ingólfshöfði Nature Tour - Hey Wagon TripIngólfshöfði is an isolated headland between black sands and the Atlantic Ocean, with thousands of nesting seabirds including puffins and the great skua. This historical cape is named after the first settler of Iceland, Ingólfur Arnarson, who spent his first winter in Iceland there in the year 874 AD.

To get to Ingólfshöfði , we cross 6 km of waters, marshes and sand in a tractor-drawn hay cart. The drive takes about 20-30 minutes each way, so we will spend about 1½ hour hiking around the cape. We make several stops to explain the history of the cape (in English only) and, of course, to do some bird watching. The circle around the nature reserve is approximately a 1 ½ mile hike. There is a steep sand slope at the beginning but then it gets easier where most of the hiking is on flat grass land. We don't recommend that people participate in this trip unless they feel confident they will be able to complete the hike.

Viking Sushi Adventure Boat TripThis is a trip to enjoy nature, watch birds and taste fresh scallops. This unique adventure takes place on the Breiðafjörður Bay in the west of Iceland.

On the way we see countless islands, many with strange forms and interesting basalt formations. There are lots of birds such as Puffins, Eider ducks, Shags and if we are very lucky the White-tailed eagle. A highlight is the fishing with a small plough, where we conjure up delicacies from the sea such as scallops and sea urchins. This is a fantastic adventure that nobody who goes on a holiday to Iceland should miss out on.

Whale Watching and Sea Angling Boat TripIn this trip you sail through the lovely fjord of Eyjafjörður, searching for whales, but we can also do some sea angling.

The guide demonstrates how it all works, and of course he tells you all about the whales. During these trips, we often see Humpback whales, Minky whales, dolphins and Harbour porpoises, and sometimes we also see Killer whales. To make certain the animals are not disturbed by our presence, we take care to keep our speed to their habitat always the same. As a result, many species often surface quite close to our boat. On the way, we serve coffe and home-made cake.

There are also tours available without the sea angling, only looking for whales!
