Whale Watching, Húsavík:
Experience the original Húsavík Whale Watching tour that has given the town its reputation as Europe's whale watching capital. Marvel at the magnificent wildlife and enjoy the stunning scenery aboard a renovated traditional oak fishing boat. North Sailing is an environmentally conscious operator, using only oak boats, with fuel efficient and silent diesel engines. The boats are all specially equipped and fulfil all whale watching requirements.
Duration: 3 hrs.
Refreshments: Hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
Clothing: Warm and waterproof clothing recommended. Warm overalls, rain coats, hats, gloves and blankets available for your convenience.
How to get there: Drive to Húsavík, then follow the main street down to the harbour.

Vatnajökull Skidoo Tour 2 people on ski-doo incl. jeep transfers:
At the southern edge of Langjökull, Europe's second largest glacier, there is a hut, from where snow scooter trips can be made. It is located at quite an altitude, however, and the track leading there is steep, winding and narrow. In fact it is only possible to drive up there in a powerful jeep; other cars will not make it! The tour is available with jeep transport to and from the hut. The drive is a great adventure, and the visit to the glacier itself, a thrilling snow scooter drive 5 km into the ice, would be the undisputed highlight of any holiday.
Duration: 3½ hrs in total - including the drive up - 1 hr on snow scooter.
Clothing: Warm clothes, fleece or wool jumper and good shoes. Overalls, gloves and helmets provided. Snow shoes also available.
Departures: Daily at 9:30 and 14:00 from road 1. Just about all year round, subject to demand.
Comments: Drivers need a valid driver’s license to drive snow scooters.
How to get there: Smyrlabjörg is situated 30 km east of Jökulsárlón and 45 km west of the turn-off to Höfn, along road 1, on the north side of the road. By the roadside there is a large sign advertising the glacier tours, it indicates the point of departure where the track up to the glacier edge begins.

River Rafting Varmahlíð West River:
From Varmahlíð a bus goes to Vesturdalur valley (about 30-40 min). The 2 hour raft takes you through a series of rapids, it is perfect for beginners to learn the skills of rafting. The river is grade 3. Half-way down, we stop for refreshments, so everyone can try some hot cocoa made with hot spring water that bubbles up on the riverbank. If conditions allow, you can also try some cliff jumping! The tour ends on the calm waters of the Héraðsvötn river, where you have the chance to relax and have a swim before the boats are hauled up and we return to Varmahlíð. Activity Tours’ is based in Varmahlíð village.
Duration: 2 hrs rafting, total duration 3-4 hrs.
Clothing: Dry-suits, safety vests and helmets are provided for all participants.
Departures: Daily: morning and afternoon on request, but usually at 9:00 and 14:00. Available in summer: May through September.
Comments: Min. age 12 years.

Lava tour horseback riding:
An adventurous ride offered by Íshestar Riding Centre into the lava fields surrounding the volcano Mt. Helgafell, or to Lake Hvaleyrarvatn and into the Kaldársel area. The excursion includes horseback riding for around an hour and a half, riding helmets, rainwear or warm outfits for the ride, gloves, boots and an English-speaking guide. It is possible to go riding in the morning, and have lunch afterwards, or have lunch first and go riding after that. Alternatively participants can choose to only go riding. Lunch is NOT included in the price.
Duration: 1½ hrs riding.
Clothing: You should be ready for all kinds of weather as it can change very quickly.
Departures: Daily: 10:00, 14:00, 16:30 all year around, subject to demand.
How to get there: From Reykjavík drive south in the direction of Hafnarfjörður and Keflavík Airport. Drive through the town Kópavogur, then through Garðarbær. Upon arrival to Hafnarfjörður, the road takes a left turn at the traffic lights, in the direction of Keflavík Airport; follow this road until you see a petrol station on the right-hand side. Take the first turn left after the petrol station (it is a roundabout and there is a cemetery on that corner). Follow that road for 2 km (there is at one point a turnoff to the left, but continue straight on). Íshestar Centre is on the left side.
